"Synapse has done another fine job for trailer fans with this collection of trailers. Like its predecessor, 42nd Street Forever, Vol.2: The Deuce stands apart from the pack in the world of trailer compilations because of the care it takes in presenting the trailers. They were all transferred in high-definitive video and thus look much better than one normally expects from compilations like this. There are the expected scratches and speckling throughout since these were taken from vintage print sources but the high-def mastering gives the trailers a level of color and clarity that often take the viewer by surprise. In terms of audio, the trailers are presented in Dolby Digital Mono. Again, they fall prey to the limitations of the source material (the occasional skip or garbled bit on the top or tail of a spot) but they all sound better that one might expect. There are no extras on the disc but given the quality of the transfers and the generous running time of 121 minutes, that is a minor gripe. All in all, this is a trailer collection that has the look to match its highlights and this makes 42nd Street Forever, Vol.2: The Deuce a worthwhile investment for the exploitation movie fan."
