Overview

Mamie Smith (Marion Davies) is an orphan who is taken in by the kindly Mrs. Caldwell (Hedda Hopper) in this western drama. Mrs. Caldwell dies, leaving her son Zander (John Huff) in Mamie's care. While searching for the boy's father, Mamie meets the bootlegger Dan Murchison (Harrison Ford). He locks Mamie in a cabin when she threatens to go to the sheriff (Hobart Bosworth), and sends young Zander to stay with his friend Juan (Holbrook Blinn). Soon the notorious Black Bart (George Siegmann) and his gang of outlaws come to town and kidnap Mamie. Dan goes after the gang in an attempt to rescue Mamie. Harry Myers plays Texas, with Harry Watson providing comedy relief.
