"John Carpenter scares up a horror remake with his small-town fright fest Village of the Damned. Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, Universal's work on this transfer appears to be in tip-top shape. With solid colors and dark black levels, the image sports no edge enhancement, grain, or other imperfections that might otherwise mar the image. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and is also top-notch. With a bombastic bass and swirling surround sounds, this mix is very full and should give any home theater and thorough workout. Also included on this disc is a Dolby 2.0 soundtrack in French as well as Spanish subtitles and English captions. The extra features on Village of the Damned are less than exciting. The supplements available include a theatrical trailer for the film, a few scant production notes, some info on the cast and crew, and a few bonus trailers for other Universal releases."
