Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Some care obviously went into the transfer, for the film has never looked this good on home video. The 5.1 English soundtrack is mixed quite well. Those who actually enjoy Peter Frampton covering Beatles songs will not be disappointed. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. The original theatrical trailer rounds out this technically strong, but extras-barren release from Universal."
