Overview

Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) and his friends George (Jason Alexander), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and Kramer (Michael Richards) deal with further dilemma of modern living as Jerry and George try to turn their lives into a situation comedy, Kramer tries to replace some Cuban cigars after losing a box in a fire, Elaine lives to regret having Kramer take her Christmas card portrait, and everyone attempts to prove they are "master of their domain" in this collection of classic episodes from the television series Seinfeld. Editorial Reviews

The 22 episodes of the 1992-93 season collectively represent the indisputable creative high point of this much-beloved, innovative sitcom. This is the year that Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) and George (Jason Alexander) develop their abortive pilot for NBC, and their efforts to write and produce the show provide a subplot that lasts the entire season. Additionally, Season 4 features an unparalleled concentration of classic episodes, most of them more readily remembered for the one-liners or catchphrases they contain: "The Implant" ("They're real, and they're spectacular"), "The Outing" ("...not that there's anything wrong with that"), and above all, "The Contest" ("I am master of my domain"). Moreover, this is the assemblage that introduces us to the Bubble Boy, Marla the Virgin, Crazy Joe Davola, and George's fiancée Susan. The year comes to a hilarious close with "The Pilot" (originally an hour-long show split into two parts for syndication), which features cameos by many of the season's guest stars and ties up all the loose ends. Writer Larry David and director Tom Cherones really outdid themselves with this chunk of episodes; while Seinfeld had many, many memorable stanzas to come, no subsequent season achieved the level of consistent quality established with the '92-'93 cluster of shows.
