Overview

In rural Missouri, a French immigrant family finds their turbulent life on the frontier further jeopardized by the violent outbreak of the American Civil War. Fearing for their welfare, the family elects to flee to their native Paris in the company of an ex-mercenary hired to keep them safe on the road.
