Dean Martin plays a boozing Las Vegas nightclub singer named Dino (what a stretch) in this situation sex comedy directed by Billy Wilder. On his way back to Los Angeles, his Italian sportscar breaks down in the small town of Climax, Nevada. Mechanic Orville J. Spooner (Ray Walston) is a aspiring songwriter who seizes the opportunity to pitch some songs to the crooner. Orville and his song-writing partner Barney Milsap (Cliff Osmond) tell Dino that they must send to Milan for the needed car part to fix his vehicle. When Orville discovers Dino's considerable libido, he gets his wife Zelda (Felicia Farr) out of the house and gets hooker Polly the Pistol (Kim Novak) to pose as his wife. Music is provided by the Gershwin brothers and Andre Previn. Watch for Mel Blanc as Dr. Sheldrake and Henry Gibson as Smith in small parts.
