"Woody Allen once again stars and directs a great ensemble cast (including Michael Caine and Barbara Hershey) in 1986's Hannah and Her Sisters. MGM has done a nice job on this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, making sure that the colors are balanced and deep with black levels looking sharp. Edge enhancement is not present during the film, though there is a slight amount of dirt in a few key scenes. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono and is sufficient for the film it supports. Depth and fidelity are sorely lacking on this track, but otherwise the effects, dialogue, and music are all clear of any hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English, French, and Spanish subtitles, as well as Dolby 2.0 Mono tracks in both French and Spanish. Not unlike all the other Woody Allen discs released by MGM, Hannah and Her Sisters sports only a theatrical trailer as its sole extra feature. Overall, this edition of Hannah and Her Sisters is good, though certainly not great."
