Overview

An inexplicably enduring sitcom about seven stranded castaways on an uncharted desert isle. Despite a critical bashing, the show became a pop-culture phenomenon after it was released in syndication; and spun off three TV movies (including the immortal `Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island') and two Saturday-morning cartoons, one set in outer space (`Gilligan's Planet'). Gilligan's first name was never mentioned in the nearly 100 episodes.
