Overview

This film begins with the supposed death of the notorious Dr. Syn, the 18th-century clergyman-cum-pirate created by novelist Roger Thorndyke. The story then flashes forward to the coastal village of Dymchurch, where the kindly vicar is actually the allegedly deceased buccaneer, still operating his smuggling activities.
