Directed by Éric Besnard, this comedy is set in 1789 France before the Revolution. The story follows Manceron (Grégory Gadebois), a cook of a noble house that prides itself on the gourmet quality of their served dishes. But when his self-entitled boss, the Duke of Chamfort (Benjamin Lavernhe), fires him for serving an unsatisfactory dish, Manceron retreats to a faraway inn where a mysterious lady (Isabelle Carré) volunteers to be his apprentice. Later, Manceron is inspired to create gastronomic dishes once reserved for the elite, now served to commoners ' earning the ire of his former boss. ~ Olivia Cantor
