"Urban drama and horror come together in the Snoop Dogg vehicle Bones. New Line has done a fantastic job on this nearly flawless 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. No grain, dirt, edge enhancement, or digital artifacting is spotted anywhere on this disc. All of the colors, flesh tones, and black levels look very vibrant and even. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX, DTS 6.1, and Dolby 2.0 Surround, all in English. The DTS and Dolby 5.1 soundtracks both sound extremely bombastic and full. The surround feature on each of these mixes is utilized extensively through the front and rear speakers to maximum effect. All aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are clear of any distortion or hiss. Also included on this disc are English subtitles. Bones is presented in New Line's ""Platinum Edition"" and features lots of goodies for fans to peruse through. The first is a commentary track by director Ernest Dickerson, writer Adam Simon, and star Snoop Dogg. While this is a somewhat dull track with some lulls in the feature, there are some interesting behind-the-scenes tidbits shared with the viewer. Fourteen deleted scenes are next totaling about 24 minutes. Some of these cut scenes are fairly interesting, while others are just boring. Two rather long featurettes titled ""Digging up Bones"" and ""Urban Gothic: Bones and Its Influences,"" are very in-depth looks at both the production of the film as well as where the idea for Bones sprung from. Rounding out the extra features are two music videos, one live and one filmed, by Snoop Dogg, as well as some info on the cast and crew and a theatrical trailer presented in anamorphic widescreen. Watch your back and get your hands on this great edition of Bones."
