Babylon is a hard-hitting, music-filled saga of some Rastafarian Londoners trying to get on with their life and get a hit band launched. Their leader Blue (Brinsley Forde) sums up their situation well. Blue's central concerns are making sure his brother goes to school and at the same time, he tries to ignore the racial slurs at work and the constant, angry relationship he has with his father. Before he knows what has happened, he and the band are faced with serious trouble as their sound equipment is trashed by white neighbors angered by their late night sessions. To make matters worse, Blue loses his job and is mauled by the police. He is now radicalized to the point where he is ready to strike back. Witty, vibrant, and also violent, this unusual drama reaches out to anyone looking for more than just a little slice of life.
