Overview

Dusty's War is a rare insight to World War I from the perspective of a cowardly pilot. A man who joins the Army and the fight against The Huns more from fear of ridicule rather than courage and zeal. We find out later that courage and fear are two sides to the same thing and that sometimes fear is a good temperament to making life's journey last a bit longer.
Dusty Miller is a man who dreamt of cars and ended up flying airplanes. His life evolved from his service in the US Army Air Service and carried over into a successful career along side the aviation greats like Eddie Rickenbacker, General Doolittle, and many others who had not only contributed to the defeat of The Huns, but also to the success and growth of the aviation industry.
Dusty's life journey was full of excitement, love, tragedy, being in the right place at the right time.
The book is enhanced with pictures of the technology of turn of the 20th Century bringing imagery to the written words.

About the Author

Chauncy Stiles Steven Miller, Jr. aka Dusty, kept journals and scrapbooks for over 60 years. It is from these journals that he and daughter, Ardis Miller Stevenson, wrote "Dusty's War." Ardis, Writer/Author/Publisher in her own right, read through Dusty's journals and interviewed her father while she was giving care to him in his final years. From the interviews she typed out the book in 1983 & 1984. The book has been sitting in a binder for over 30 years. This is Ardis' second book, her first, "Facing Age, Finding Answers" too was born out of her care giving to her father.
