Dusseldorf Toni Ulmen Formula Two Champion

Toni Ulmen was a German Veritas driver who excelled in Formula Two competition, so much so that he won a championship in this division. Unfortunately the German post World War II drivers were kept from competing in Formula One by FIA sanctions following the armed conflict. Nevertheless Toni became a successful sports car racer and was a very diversified driver. A native of Dusseldorf, Ulmen began racing when he was about 21, in 1927.
