Purpose: The purpose is to provide an updated review of ocular side effects commonly seen with medications. This book is an easy reference that can be used in daily clinical practice.
Audience: This book is written for both practicing ocular physicians and students of any ocular discipline. The authors are recognized experts in the field of ophthalmology.
Features: This well-written book is divided into chapters covering drug classes and ocular side effects seen with drugs within those classes. This division makes finding information easy and intuitive. There is an index of drug names, which is to be expected, but there is also an index of ocular signs and symptoms with a listing of the drugs that can be associated. This makes the book a valuable resource for both students and practicing physicians. It is easily understood and well organized.
Assessment: With the always advancing science of pharmacology and toxicology, this updated edition is a welcome addition to any ophthalmic library. It is well written and easy to find information quickly. The addition of an online version is a bonus that provides the ability to have the information in any exam room with just a few keystrokes.
