About the Author

My name is David Allen Cheramie JR. I was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in King George, Virginia. I served in the United States Army for three years as an Intelligence Analyst All-Source. While in the military I volunteered my service for the children’s Special Olympics every year. I fell in love with helping children who must overcome life changing challenges and yet are so much happier than most of the world. I am a proud father of three beautiful daughters. One of my daughters was the inspiration to my first book. Ryleigh was three years old when she had a spinal cord injury and has overcome amazing obstacles. She fights to achieve what most would seem impossible and does it with a smile on her face every day. I write to inspire children to dream big, because dreams are what motivate us to accomplish the impossible.

CHAPTER 1

Good morning! I'm Ryleigh. I may look like an average little girl, but I'm going to be in the record books one day. If I fall, I'll get back up and try twice as hard.

I love basketball! I could shoot hoops all day. I like to challenge myself by making baskets while I'm sitting down. I am going to set the world record for the most baskets in a row while sitting down.

I play checkers with my family. Mom says I'm a natural. I watch my mom and dad play to learn as much as I can. One day I'll be in the record books as a checkers grandmaster.

I can get lost for hours when I play video games. My sister and I make a perfect team when we play Donkey Kong. One day I'll be in the record books as a top professional gamer.

Sometimes my family and I fly to New York. I love to look out the window and see the big, fluffy clouds. One day I'm going to be the pilot who sets the world record for the fastest flight around the world.

One Christmas I got a drum set. I love to play drums and rock out to my favorite bands! I'm going to learn and master all the songs I can. One day I'll set the world record for the longest drum solo.

Did I mention I can sing like an angel? My mom tells me that all the time. We sing together everywhere, sometimes without music. One day I'm going to win a Grammy Award.
