Overview

Recently, while staying at a remote inn by the windy shore of one of Scotland’s famous lochs, I noticed a brick under the hearth in my room was loose. Pulling the brick out and intending to bring the problem to my host’s attention, I noticed what looked like the corner of a small wooden chest.

Pulling out some of the other bricks, which were held loosely in place by the decayed mortar.....
