About the Author

Daniel Berenson is a long time elementary and middle school educator in North Carolina (with a year in England as a Fulbright Exchange Teacher thrown in). He is the author of novels, short story collections, poetry books, and moose joke medleys aimed at kids, teenagers, and maturity-challenged adults. He is also the founder and a principal contributor at Freaky Dude Books, where he posts original poetry, videos, and achingly poignant pearls of wisdom. But there has been some upheaval at the site lately. Daniel's blog has been in essence taken over by Dr. Crankenfuss, the adolescent author of Dr. Crankenfuss's Humor Book for Guys. Dr. C thinks he's funnier and more clever than Daniel, and he often is. It's all Daniel can do to keep the kid focused -- Crankenfuss definitely displays symptoms of ADHD -- while he continues to work on his own projects. Daniel is also 1/2 of "The World's Oldest and Coolest Author/Illustrator Dance Couple" with his partner/illustrator/web designer Maureen Dunlap.
