Overview

Dorothy Dale's Promise is the ninth in the series: Dorothy and her friends are in their final year at Glendwood School (a high school). Along the way, Dorothy meets Celia Moran, an orphaned little girl who asks Dorothy to find her brother, Tom, who will rescue her from the orphanage. Of course Dorothy promises to do so, and the hunt for Tom Moran is on. Of course, along the way, Tavia and Dorothy's other friends encounter obstacles and adventures.

About the Author

Margaret Penrose was a Stratemeyer Syndicate pen name used for the Dorothy Dale, The Radio Girls (later reprinted as The Campfire Girls) and The Motor Girls series. Lilian C. Garis, whose husband Howard wrote many novels for Stratemeyer over 30 years, including The Motor Boys series, wrote volumes 1-8 and 11. W. Bert Foster wrote 9, 10 and 12. After a long gap, Elizabeth Duffield Ward wrote the final volume, number 13.
