About the Author

Shayla James was raised in Oklahoma and is a graduate of Oklahoma City University. Her love of writing began at the age of 6 and continued to grow into her own voice. One that would capture not only the southern archetypes she is captivated by, but also her spiritual roots, her deep complicated interpersonal relationships, and her constant awakening. Nicole Jocleen spent the majority of her life in Oklahoma. She is a proud graduate of Southern University A&M College where she gained her journalistic writing experience. She has self-published 2 poetry books and 2 novels. Her love for storytelling has led to script writing. Her poetic influences are Dr. Maya Angelou Ntozake Shange, Nina Simone and many more.
