Overview

In Volume 1 of Dom Nozzi's Voyages and Adventures, I cataloged the first 47 years of my adventurous life, including my being an avid traveler, adventurer, hiker, diver, kayaker, bicyclist, and skier.
I am an adrenalin junkie and sensation seeker. I live to feel speed, acceleration, the sensation of falling, and graceful movement.
In this Volume 2, my adventures continue to become more bold, more rewarding, and more exciting.
In October 2007, I was fortunate to be able to retire from my career as a town and transportation planner at the age of 47. My early retirement was not due to making a lot of money but by not spending a lot of money. I was primarily able to do this because I did not father any children, and never owned a motor vehicle for a meaningful length of time.
Another fortunate aspect of my retirement is that unlike many, I possess a broad range of intellectually and recreationally rewarding "hobbies" and interests.
It is not enough to be able to sleep late. Or watch a lot more TV. Those sorts of things get old very quickly.
Instead, I am grateful for the fact that I retired with passions that keep me happy and busy for a great many decades in my retirement years.
For example, I love reading books to the point where I read about 50 to 90 books per year. I also love writing daily. I have now written thousands of letters and blogs, have published 13 books, and have had published countless letters to the editor.
Another passion I have that keeps me busy – as an acknowledged and happy extrovert – is hosting social gatherings.
Finally, as my Voyages and Adventures books illustrate, I also have a strong desire to engage in worldwide travel and adventure.
This volume contains the most hair-raising, fascinating travel and adventures I engaged in for the first 15 years of my retirement.
