Overview

The story is about Dolly and her Grandma who goes together to the school picnic. It shows how Grandma got a chance to relive her childhood and enlighten the children on the secrets' of nature although she was despised by some of Dolly's classmates at the beginning which later ended up in utmost admiration, love, and respect for the old lady. Her benevolence, caring and loving attitude won the hearts of all.
The story teaches us to realize that Mother Nature is a great teacher and mentor. If we can tune our mind and observe carefully then every natural phenomenon, be it the birds chirping, the stubborn rock, or the dense forest has a message for us. All we need is to cultivate gratitude, love, and respect with an ardent desire to hear and watch the sublime messages that it always sends to us.
Dolly with her young inquisitive heart is extremely responsive to the soft signals of nature. Her Grandma has taught her that nature reveal its secrets to those who are willing to learn and listen with a pure heart. Grandma with all her experiences shares with Dolly that human beings are shaped by their circumstances and its only love and compassion that can transform and win over all hostilities and animosity.
The sweet cookies that Grandma made with lot of love for the children seems to have broken all negative impressions that some of the kids had about Grandma at the beginning of the picnic. Even though some of the students expressed their disgust to see Grandma at the beginning yet she never hesitated to help the kids who go themselves hurt. Even Dolly's teachers were impressed by her caring and loving nature.
