About the Author

About the author: Timothy Mountain is a long time San Diego resident, who graduated from San Diego State University and is now an employee of the San Diego Public Library. He enjoys photographing the scenery of the iconic landscape of San Diego's East County. Art is also one of his many interests. When he's not investigating claims of the paranormal activity with Pacific Paranormal Investigations, Timothy writes poetry and peers into the nighttime sky with his telescope.

"What inspired me to write this book is my interest in the history of San Diego and that of Old Town. San Diego has many stories and I hope to bring that to children and everyone who visits San Diego."

About the illustrator: Bernard Cayetano is an attuned Reiki practitioner and ordained minister. He has one cat and many mystery snails. One of his favorite things to do is babysit his good friend's cats while she is away; her name is Carol Ann. Bernard also plays various wooden flutes and brings them on his hikes. When Bernard was a child, he had a fond memory of the, "All Saints' Day," in the Philippines. "We would bring candles, food and flowers to our loved ones at the cemetery. My cousins taught me how to collect wax drips from candles and roll them into a ball. We would go to each lit candle and add hot wax on our wax balls. By the end of the day, we would have a contest to see who has the biggest roll of wax," he recalls.
