Dolls Meant for Addie
In 1830's Cleveland, Ohio, Otto Lang assigned the task of creating a small porcelain figurine to his employee, Frederick Schwartz. It was to be a one-of-a-kind special gift for his daughter Anna.

Otto never learned that Frederick made two dolls and gave one of them to his own daughter Helga. Both girls keep the dolls are personal treasures and hope to pass them on as family heirlooms.

The story of the dolls, the lives of the girls and their families, and how in the twentieth century both dolls become part of the life of Addie Simmons Curtis is a tale of romance, family relationships, history, and adventure.

From Ohio to St. Louis, Missouri and the new state of Arkansas, the dolls travel by boat and covered wagon to bring joy and comfort to young girls.
