About the Author

Andrew Gardiner, BVM&S, Cert SAS, MSc, PhD, MRCVS, is a Veterinary Clinical Lecturer at University of Edinburgh. He is also the author of First Aid for Dogs, also published by J.A. Allen. Maggie Raynor is probably the most successful and sought-after equine illustrator working today. Her well developed powers of observation ensure that her attractive and accurate illustrations convey information that is crystal clear. She was awarded a scholarship to further her print-making studies in Germany and when she returned took up riding and decided to become an equine illustrator instead.
