About the Author

Glen Hines is a native Texan. He was born and raised in Houston and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and George Washington University School of Law in Washington, DC. He is a former NCAA Division 1 letterman in football and baseball at Rice University and the University of Arkansas, and a reserve Marine Corps officer with over 16 years of active duty service. His military career has been spent as a lawyer, prosecutor, and judge, and he is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, having served overseas in Iraq, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Naval Station Bahrain, and Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. From 2010 to 2012, he was a senior prosecutor with the Office of Military Commissions where he investigated and prosecuted alleged acts of terrorism committed by detainees alleged to be affiliated with al-Qaeda, and from 2000-2002 and 2012-2014, he served stints as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice. His writing has been published on Sports Illustrated.com and elsewhere. He presently lives in Virginia.
