We went our separate ways: Us and Them. We went on to civilize ourselves and they remained a nomadic and indigenous people. We used the bountiful resources of nature and they simply saw themselves as being nature. Now, we look back and see how they live and how we live.

DIVERGENCE offers an insightful look at how we came to be separated from our natural environment and even our own basic nature from an anthropological perspective. DIVERGENCE explores the basic disconnections in our lives that we’ve come to accept as normal.
With the roughly 500 indigenous societies on our planet today, we must ask ourselves: How have the First Peoples of our planet lived so sustainably and for so long, yet in a short time the civilized peoples seem to have put our species on the brink of extinction.
The native peoples. The animal and plant kingdoms have their eyes on us to make sure, at this propitious moment in our evolution, that we reconnect with nature.

About the Author

Michael Mish has led a many-faceted career life. During most of the 80’s he worked as a voice-actor for Disney and Hanna-Barbera. Subsequently, he began his own children’s music publishing company. His recordings have lead to his speaking at the UN’s General Assembly, an Emmy Award for his hosting an NBC special on the environment featuring his songs, and numerous awards including the Parent’s Choice Gold Award. His recordings have been reviewed with accolades from publications like Publisher’s Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, and the LA Times. Of Michael’s recordings, the actor, Dennis Weaver has said: I am in awe of the extraordinary musical talent of Michael Mish. He is a triple threat...writes, produces and performs. One moment he puts a smile on your lips, the next he brings a tear to your eye. Nobody can listen to his work without being thoroughly entertained, mentally stimulated and spiritually uplifted. For nearly 10 years he toured elementary and middle schools throughout the United States speaking about the environment and ethical behavior. Michael has written and performed music for audio books on tape like the Conversations with God series by Neale Donald Walsch. After selling and giving away all his possessions, he taught scuba diving in Bali for 6 years and now lives in Thailand. His recent-most book, DIVERGENCE – they are waiting, microscopes the various separations in our lives that have cascaded from the original split from nature which probably happened after the last ice age – 6000 years ago.
