About the Author

Hans A. Neunzig has been active as an editor and writer on literature and music. His previous books include studies of Brahms and German Romantic composers and writers, and a volume on Schultz, Handel, and Bach. Kenneth S. Whitton, translator of Neunzig's Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau: A Biography, is Professor Emeritus in the Department of European Studies at the University of Bradford. He is the author of an earlier critical study of Fischer-Dieskau (Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau: Mastersinger) and is a longstanding friend of the singer.
