Two distant relatives unwittingly cross paths and violence results. In Asia Japanese terrorists assassinate three senior American intelligence officers. Rollo Satterfield, an inexperienced trainee, discovers a link and is dispatched to Singapore where he identifies the assassin. He reports his finding and is ordered home. Unbeknownst to Rollo, the Director dispatches ex Green Beret Jocko Satterfield on a mission of revenge. A disappointed Rollo embarks on his career which takes him to Teheran where he recruits an agent who uncovers a plot to kidnap the American Ambassador. Rollo’s success leads to a personna non grata departure and eventually to Lisbon where Rollo immediately finds himself embroiled in Portugal’s political anarchy as the country struggles to escape its past. Jocko, now his Agency’s secret assassin, undertakes dangerous missions to Africa and finally to Lisbon where his target is the notorious O Gordo, the Beast of Luanda. In Portugal Jocko and Rollo again cross destinies with surprising results.

About the Author

A graduate of Potomac State College, West Virginia University and a teaching assistant at the University of Wisconsin where he worked on his doctorate in American History, Robert L Skidmore spent thirty-five years in the foreign service of the United States whose assignments took him to tours in Iran, Greece, New Zealand, Laos, Malaysia, and Portugal. Now, long retired, Mr. Skidmore indulges in two lifelong passions, researching history and writing, both of which enable him to play with his computers and avoid travel at all cost.
