Description: This is a very basic overview of pediatric craniofacial trauma.
Purpose: As stated in the preface, this book "endeavors to compile the current concepts and thereby create a canvas through descriptions and illustrations pertaining to examination, diagnosis, and treatment that provides guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of the pediatric (trauma) patient." This is, indeed, a worthy objective, but the book is much too superficial to meet it.
Audience: Medical students and residents in training are the intended audience.
Features: This is a very superficial and simplified overview of the important topic of pediatric craniofacial trauma.
Assessment: The book is of minimal usefulness. It offers little information regarding new techniques in management that have not been previously described. Furthermore, there is a paucity of detailed description of pediatric fracture management.
