About the Author

On January 4th, 2023, one year to date of her late husband’s passing, Christy Slauson Vincent answered God’s call on her life to write Detours to Destiny. Detours to Destiny tells of her journey through life, explaining each detour that she experienced; sharing biblical principle and lessons learned.

Christy’s hope for this book is to share her experiences, her mistakes, and her pain with others so that through her testimony of how she has overcome, that they too will have the courage and the fight to keep going, to not give up, and to finish the race ahead.

Widowed at the age of 53, after a 17-year marriage to her best friend and forever soul mate, Christy had a choice to become bitter or better… she chooses to become better by turning her pain into purpose. Like many other tests and trials that she has faced along her journey of life, she knows that God is and has always been in control. She is a successful businesswoman who has fought her way to the top of the ranks, but has never forgotten where she began.
