Overview

The USS Russell is set to be decommissioned, its useful life at an end. It did not happen. During a routine stop at a third-world country, some of the crew is kidnapped. This is the story of demands, refusals, an attack and a rescue with the help of a ship of the Royal Australian Navy. Readers will appreciate the intricacies of navy operations, the problems of working with political higher-ups, even the sometimes colorful language as we follow the leadership of the ship's new captain. This is a nail-biter which will keep the reader on the edge of the seat.

About the Author

Ken Badoian has been a sailor all the way from a small kid sailing a dinghy on Cape Cod to sailing in submarines, on destroyers and frigates, and back down to just a kayak. His life has been boats, ships, and the ocean.
He holds a bachelors degree and a masters degree, as well as teaching at the Surface Warfare School in Rhode Island.
Prior to becoming a writer, Ken was an award winning local artist . . . until he determined that it is much less messy to use a computer than a canvas.
Ken has a library of over 500 naval books, both fiction and non-fiction and plans to use them as he researches and writes about his Navy. He is also not shy about speaking on contemporary naval issues.
Ken and his wife reside in North Carolina.
