Overview

"Deep Tank Jersey" is a first person romp through the subculture of night life on the New Jersey club circuit with one of its premier bands, Dog Voices. It is an inside look at life in the fastlane with hard working musicians and the twisted people who surround them nightly. Many other top NJ bands, their roadies, groupies, management, and agents are studied. Owners, bouncers, and employees of popular night spots tell wild and sometimes moving stories of success and failure in a dog eat dog business that changes on the fly. It is also a story of lonliness and passion in a world where the thrill-a-minute philosophy can blur lines and create a bizarre reality. A strange and terrible place to make a living.

About the Author

James Campion is a freelance writer and broadcaster whose main goal as an author is to comb the depths of the human spirit and find anything there to possibly exploit. He began his literary journey in the miserable world of journalism where the cannibals and vampires became his sources and the weary and disconnected read him voraciously. A baseball strike, long nights paining over a sports book, and a nasty break-up forced him into the crazed world of the New Jersey Club where he finished his first book, "Deep Tank Jersey." He is currently penning a column called "Reality Check" for the Aquarian Weekly and fighting editors of all shapes and sizes throughout the US. His second book of essays, letters, and columns called "Fear No Art" is presently being essemlbed for escape.
