About the Author

It was only natural that when her daughter was diagnosed with Schizo Affective Disorder that she turned to writing. All of her books show characters with behavior of their mental illness. She does this to show others how it is for those diagnosed with disorders. The language of her books seem like they need edited, but they don't. They are wrote in the way that those with disorders think and act.
Joanna uses her books to help educate others about what mental illness really is.
Joanna Blackburn has worked with children with special needs for the last ten years and it has showed her the need for materials for books for children with special needs. All of her books teach different ways and understanding on how to communicate with others.
