Death in Saigon
In 1967, a young free lance journalist in the Vietnam War decides to try something different and goes to work for an American pimp and drug lord in Saigon. A serial killer is on the loose in Saigon and he is killing young prostitutes. The journalist falls in love with a Vietnamese prostitute, is befriended by a wily Vietnamese detective on the murder squad who introduces him to opium and the reality of Vietnamese life. His lover dies at the hands of the killer. The hunt is on to find him. They do, which results in a dramatic climax. There is much about life in Vietnam during the war that is not found in many novels.

About the Author

Ron Steinman was bureau chief for NBC News in Saigon during the Vietnam War. He was a executive at NBC News, and a long-time senior producer on the Today Show and for instant specials. At ABC News Productions, he produced many documentaries for A&E, The Learning Channel, Discovery and History Channel. He is the author of four books, including his memoir of the Vietnam War, "Inside Television's First War" and "The Soldiers' Story." He is executive editor and a columnist for The Digital Journalist and The Digital Filmmaker. He is also an independent documentary filmmaker with his company, Douglas/Steinman Productions.
