The idea for writing, Dear Mother, came from many years of just writing notes to my Mother when I was feeling sad. Over the years I would attempt to start a book, but wouldn't finish it. So Dear Mother, was born from all those alone moments that I was really missing not having her in my life to talk to. One day I sat down and starting writing and couldn't stop it felt good talking to her so to speak..... it felt like I was finally free of all the stored up feelings and memories that were just waiting to be released.

Khaliah Abdus-Sabur, was born in New Haven, Ct. Dear Mother, is her first book to be published. Khaliah worked in the Public School System as a Substitute Teacher, and a paraprofessional for 19 years. She is now retired but is still enjoys working with children in her community.
