Motivated to overcome her situation, she persuades her therapist to supply her with female enhancement pills, which has an immediate effect on her spirits, as well, she is able to see and interact with ghosts from her past.

With renewed vigor, she enters a sommelier competition where she meets and falls madly in love with one of her competitors. But it is short lived as her new love interest is murdered. Marty is framed for the crime. Her life begins to unravel as she goes on trial. Albeit, the ghosts are there to lend support and entertain her through the process.

About the Author

Randy Shamlian wrote a culinary memoir, A Slice of Apple Pie, that is often times tongue-in-cheek about his life growing up in New Jersey and California and his exposure to a variety of cultural foods, which influenced his career choices as a baker, pastry chef and business owner. He explores his life choices that he made with an occasional blunder, yet it was baking that was his muse to which he created a wholesale cake company, won several apple pie contests and was a pastry chef for one of America's premier chefs.

He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where his interest in screenwriting took hold after writing "Lincoln Shivered," a "what if" story about Abraham Lincoln and that fated night at the Ford's Theater. Shamlian went on to develop the screenwriting craft while honing his ability to create intriguing stories, characters with depth and fluid dialogue, which lead him into novel writing. His first novel, Deadly Recipe, is a dark fiction story with a humorous bent that was originally flushed out from a screenplay. It is easy to say that Shamlian has a knack for sinister prose. A trilogy is in the works.
