Overview

In this study, Dorais (social work, U. Laval, Quebec) examines how being stigmatized as homosexual affects the personality and behavior of males between the ages of 14 and 25. He demonstrates that gay youth are particularly at risk for committing suicide, and that for heterosexual youth who are incorrectly perceived as homosexual, the risk is even greater. The volume concludes with recommendations for ending the isolation these young men feel and preventing suicide. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
