About The Author
From Margaret:

The Three Musketeers has always been one of my all-time favorite books and I have long thought it would be fun to write a fantasy novel set during that era of swashbuckling adventure, court intrigue, swordplay and blunderbusses. After discussing this, Bob Krammes and I came up with the idea for the Dragon Brigade, setting in that time period and adding a twist by placing our characters on continents that float and ships like hot-air balloons that sail on "God's Breath".

Bob has been my friend and "military advisor" for many years. His knowledge of history in general and military history in particular has been invaluable to me. He and I have developed this world and these characters for the last four years, just for our own enjoyment. When I was invited to write this novella for the Science Fiction Book club, I thought it would be fun to set it in this world. We had a great time writing the novella together and discovered that we made a good writing team.

I view this series as being a mystery, as well as an adventure. It is a story of dragons and demons, close friends and deadly enemies, dangerous encounters and swashbuckling action, duels and intrigue and humor with spies and plot twists around every corner.

Basically I guess Bob and I hope our readers have as much fun reading Dragon Brigade as he and I have had working on it!
