Overview

This book is a breath of fresh air to those women who suffer uncontrollable (non PMS related) emotional upheavals that appear as grief, anger, depression or even consistent broken relationships. An orphan phenomenon occurs when a person feels consistently abandoned, and this may even be experienced as an adult. To any woman suffering this affliction, you are not crazy, but it's likely your circumstances were. This book allows you to be a vicarious witness to dysfunctional circumstances that introduced an orphan spirit into the lives of those abandoned. The thief who steals, kills and destroys causes the withholding of the love we all need to survive.
This work is written from the author's personal autobiographic perspective to identify poisonous dysfunction in mother-daughter relationships. Therapists agree that unidentified and unresolved emotional issues with the mother (of a woman or man) may lead to a debilitation that is difficult to overcome. The author takes a thoughtful look at her own mother-daughter dynamic, with the hope it may help other women.
It is likely that many a daughter (or mother) has gone for professional counseling to find relief, and bravo for those who realized victory in therapy. However the author notes the majority of her epiphanies came from within, and not as a result of counseling. Something identified as a help to her perspective were the years she spent working as a psychological evaluation transcriptionist for five therapists and a psychiatrist. The author transcribed the therapist's psychological evaluations of adolescent girls in the court mandated group home. The author came away knowing therapists are usually caring people, who have their own set of problems, and clay feet. We all are desperately in need the love of Jesus Christ. Our brokenness cannot be counseled away, and refuses to be hidden.

About the Author

The author’s body of work includes books, short stories, scripts, and reality vignettes. Her affinity for writing and directing earned her a bachelor of arts in television production from Loyola Marymount University. Born and raised in Ohio, the author discovered her writing gift at nine years old, writing and directing her first play. Her gift of mercy also came alive. A railroad track ran behind her family home, where transients (then considered “hobos”) jumped on and off the trains. The author’s mother took notice to her dishes missing. The adolescent author had used her mother’s dishes feeding the homeless who wandered onto the train tracks. Years later in Ms. Lewis’s public sector career, she wrote proposals for homeless shelters. She holds an earned masters of science degree in CED (Community Economic Development) from SNHU (Southern New Hampshire University).

At thirty-three years old, the author answered God’s call of an evangelist on her life. Ordained in 1996 by pastor and husband Rev. Alford Lewis, her radio broadcast was heard internationally for three years. Together, the two founded Living for Christ Ministries, an evangelistic outreach and church. God has equipped her with a unique and dynamic anointing that leaps over denominational, as well as culture, ethnic, and language boundaries. As a teacher and evangelist, signs and wonders follow her ministry, attended by healing and deliverance from all manner of sickness, disease, and demonic affliction. Time spent on staff at Oral Roberts University assisting the head dean gave her responsibility to organize graduation, pray for overseas schools, and to pray with masters of divinity students. The author is a Titus 2:3 and 4 woman, a skilled mentor and trainer to intercessors, with powerful prayer strategies for victory.

The author has enjoyed over twenty years of secular service, having worked in both the mortgage and real estate industry as a broker, has ministered to FEMA disaster survivors and consults with businesses as a content and technical writer. As a requested speaker, she is comfortable on both secular and ministry platforms. She resides in the San Fernando Valley, outside of Los Angeles, with her husband Rev. Lewis and is a stepmother to three adult sons, Anthony resides in Indiana with his wife Erica and toddler, Maxwell. Sons Paul and David reside in Los Angeles County.
