Overview

In an age when kings arranged family marriages for political gain, Princess Michal dares to fall in love. As recounted in the Bible, she helps David escape from her insanely jealous father. King Saul retaliates with plans to put his son-in-law to death. Not waiting to make his daughter a widow, the king forces Michal into a bigamous second marriage to a distant war lord.
When she returns from exile, Princess Michal finds the world has changed dramatically. Her father is dead, and David has become King of Judea. Her husband has also acquired six additional wives. She longs for a son to reign over Israel and re-establish King Saul's dynasty. However, the other royal women are equally ambitious.
Daughter of the King is a powerful story about the resilience of true love, inspired by a Biblical account of greatness, courage, and foretold prophecy.
