Description: Now in its fifth edition, this book provides a complete guide to common occupational injuries and environmental illnesses, their diagnosis and treatment, and preventive and remedial measures in the workplace and the community. It rather thoroughly addresses ergonomics, clinical toxicology, and industrial hygiene, among many other important issues.
Purpose: Like other Lange volumes, this book is intended to be practical as well as concise. One gets a sense this is probably the first place to look if you are doing a grand rounds update on an occupational or environmental medicine topic.
Audience: This book's appeal is to a broad range of professionals, certainly occupational and environmental medicine physicians and allied health personnel. Its dual goals of being concise, yet comprehensive, will likely recommend it to primary care physicians and their consultants as well.
