About the Author

Wolfgang Bauer is a reporter for Die Zeit. His second Prix Bayeux-Calvados for War Correspondents was awarded for the Die Zeit Syrian refugee reportage that formed the basis of this book.
Stanislav Krupař is a documentary photographer whose work appears regularly in the New York Times, Time, Die Zeit, and other international media.
