About the Author

Writer Mike Friedrich was one of the first wave of new comicbook creators to enter the field in the 1960s. He scripted numerous features for such companies as DC and Marvel, and, in the 1970s, he helped launch the selfpublishing comics industry with his “ground level” blackandwhite comic Star*Reach, which featured the talents of many of the most influential young creators of the day. In later years, Friedrich turned his talents from the creative end of comics and became one of the first agents in the field. Today, his Star*Reach agency represents a long roster of talent, both established and upcoming.
