About the Author

Leximonee is a poet from Chicago who has been writing poetry since the age of 9 years old. She was known even as a child to question everything. Poetry is her way of discovering herself along with the world around her. She started to compete in poetry slams for louder than a bomb at the age of 14. She then continued as a professional performance poet, booking shows even after aging out of the competitions that fed her hunger for words. She discovered that poetry was more than a hobby but a tool to freedom as well as a career path.
