This book starts with a true-life snippet. I was standing at the nurse's station when a nurse friend approached me and asked if I heard what happened in the ICU last night. I said no. And she said, "Well. A patient bled to death while the nurse was on break, and homicide might charge her with murder. " I never knew the end of the story, but it was so horrifying I decided to write a novel about it - because it was every nurse's nightmare to have harm come to a patient entrusted to their care. Many of the other medical situations are true - from my almost five decades-long ER Nursing career.
"Nursing is a significant part of me, and I can't give it up. It is where real life happens. After work, I crawl into the world of
healing by writing and creating an imaginary world with imaginary people."
