About the Author

G.W. Childs IV has written several titles covering all manner of audio excitement, from Creating Music and Sound for Games to Using Reason Onstage: Skill Pack. Beginning with a distinguished career in the U.S. Army as an audio and video editor, G.W.'s passion led him to LucasArts, where he worked again as an audio editor, sound designer, and audio engineer on game titles such as The Force Unleashed and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. He was also an actor on Star Wars: Battlefront. During this time, G.W. also began freelancing as a sound designer for companies such as Propellerhead, with whom he acted as a sound designer for Reason 3 and Reason 4 factory sound banks, and Cakewalk, where he worked on the sound bank for Rapture. As a musician, G.W. has played for years in the critically acclaimed musical act Soil & Eclipse (www.soilandeclipse.com) and Deathline International. He has also remixed several well-known acts, such as Ray Charles, James Brown, and Gene Loves Jezebel.
