This guide helps teachers use architecture, design, scale drawings, and city planning with their students in a project based learning model. Students will learn how to draw basic scale drawings and house blueprints, culminating in a scale model city of commercial buildings and residential neighborhoods. It is adaptable for grades two through twelve. The teacher's guide is based on city projects designed and implemented in several schools, by the 42-year veteran teacher, starting in 1992. The small guide includes over forty suggestions for integrating math, science, language arts, and social studies while working on this cooperative, learning project. It can be used by a single teacher; a team on a grade level; or an entire school.
