About the Author

The author is a graduate of Grambling State University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in criminal justice. He has been teaching Criminal Justice for over 30 years. He has been employed in the criminal justice profession for 24 years. He first began his teaching career at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, New York where he also worked as a New York state Investigator. He has taught criminal justice at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins Texas, Texas College in Tyler, Texas and worked as a Patrol officer for Tyler Junior College Police department. He is a TCOLE Instructor and Certified Crime Prevention Specialist. He is a veteran of the United States Army and Airforce Reserves where he worked as a Military Police Officer for 15 years. He is currently Curriculum Chair of the Criminal Justice program at Dallas College-Eastfield Campus for 19 years. He is a former graduate of the Air force Police Academy, The FBI Citizen’s Academy, and The Mesquite Police Department Citizens Academy. He has served on the Mesquite and Garland Housing Board and is a member of the North Texas Crime Commission.
